Air Fryer Bacon — The Foolproof No Mess, No Splatter Method
Air fryer bacon is the only way I make bacon now. No grease splatter on the stovetop, no babysitting a pan, no mess to clean up. Just perfectly crispy bacon every single time in under 10 minutes. Once you try it this way you will never go back to the stovetop again.
Why Air Fryer Bacon is Better Than Stovetop
The air fryer contains all the grease inside the basket, circulates heat evenly around every strip, and produces consistently crispy bacon without any flipping or watching. The grease drips down away from the bacon as it cooks — meaning crispier results and zero splatter on your kitchen surfaces.

How to Make Air Fryer Bacon Perfectly Crispy
Lay strips in a single layer — overlapping bacon means uneven cooking and soggy spots. If your air fryer is small, cut strips in half or cook in batches. Check at the 5 minute mark because bacon goes from perfect to burnt quickly. Drain on paper towels immediately after cooking — this removes excess grease and keeps it crispy longer.
How Long to Cook Air Fryer Bacon
Cook time depends on bacon thickness and how crispy you like it. Regular cut bacon needs 7-8 minutes, thick cut bacon needs 9-10 minutes, extra crispy needs an additional 1-2 minutes. Always check at the 5 minute mark and adjust from there. Every air fryer runs slightly differently so use your first batch as a calibration run. According to the USDA, pork products should be handled and stored safely to prevent foodborne illness.
Tips for the Best Air Fryer Bacon
Don’t preheat with bacon already in the basket — always preheat empty first. Never stack bacon strips — single layer only. Line the bottom of the air fryer drawer with foil for easier cleanup — just make sure it doesn’t block the airflow vents. Empty the grease from the drawer between batches to prevent smoking.
What to Make with Air Fryer Bacon
Crispy air fryer bacon is perfect for BLT sandwiches, bacon and egg breakfast bowls, crumbled over salads, wrapped around chicken, or served alongside pancakes and eggs. Cook a full pack on Sunday and store in the fridge for up to 5 days — reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 2 minutes and it crisps right back up.
