Air Fryer Churros

Ingredients
  

  • - 1 cup water
  • - ½ cup butter
  • - 1 cup all purpose flour
  • - 3 large eggs
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • - Pinch of salt
  • - Cooking spray
For cinnamon sugar coating:
  • - ½ cup sugar
  • - 2 tsp cinnamon
For chocolate dipping sauce:
  • - ½ cup dark chocolate chips
  • - ¼ cup heavy cream
  • - 1 tbsp butter
  • - 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Combine water and butter in saucepan over medium heat
  2. Bring to boil then add flour and salt all at once
  3. Stir vigorously until dough pulls away from sides and forms a ball
  4. Remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes
  5. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition
  6. Add vanilla extract and mix until smooth and glossy
  7. Transfer dough to piping bag fitted with large star tip
  8. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes
  9. Spray parchment paper with cooking spray
  10. Pipe churros 4-5 inches long onto parchment
  11. Place parchment in air fryer basket
  12. Spray churros lightly with cooking spray
  13. Cook for 5 minutes then flip carefully
  14. Cook another 5 minutes until golden and crispy
  15. Meanwhile heat cream and pour over chocolate chips
  16. Stir until smooth then add butter and vanilla
  17. Roll hot churros immediately in cinnamon sugar mixture
  18. Serve with warm chocolate dipping sauce
